Maruti Suzuki Dzire | Swift Dzire on-road price

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is a popular sub-four-metre sedan in the country, holding unbeatable sales. To meet the rising demand for sedans, Maruti Suzuki Cars India introduced the Dzire in 2008. However, apart from that, the Dzire has undergone significant changes over the years. One of them is dropping the 'Swift' name. Another is the change in platform because the current generation of the Dzire has a Heartect platform. Speaking of changes, it also received a few cosmetic and interior changes.

So, let's begin with the tit-bits of changes to the Maruti Suzuki Dzire.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Engine and Transmission

Maruti's sub-four-metre sedan is solely available with a petrol-powered engine. As for the Maruti Suzuki Dzire specifications, it gets a 1.2-litre four-cylinder K12C Dualjet petrol engine with 89bhp and 113Nm of torque. The same engine is available in Maruti Suzuki's hatchback, the Baleno. However, unlike the Baleno, the Dzire doesn't get the SHVS mild-hybrid engine.

As for available transmissions, customers can choose either a five-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. You have to pay a slight premium for the latter. In the AMT, you'll also get an electronic stability program and hill-hold assist as standard.

On its flip side, the CNG variant gets a lower state of tune, churning out 75bhp and 98.5Nm of torque. The CNG variant is exclusively available with a five-speed manual gearbox. To get an expert's opinion on the sedan's drivability, check out the Dzire review.

As for fuel efficiency, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire's mileage ranges between 23.26km/l and 31.12km/kg. The mileage will differ depending upon the combination of engine and transmission.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Prices and Variants

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire has three broad trims: LXi, VXi, and ZXi. Furthermore, there are nine variants.

Apart from variants, the Swift Dzire on-road price starts at Rs 6.24 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base model, the LXi. And it goes up to Rs 9.18 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top model, the ZXi Plus AGS.

However, the Maruti Suzuki on-road prices will range between Rs 7 lakh for the base model and Rs 10.21 lakh for the top-most model.

The CNG variants are only available in the VXi and ZXi. All prices are up to date as of July 2022.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Features

The top model of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire features a touchscreen infotainment unit with voice command and navigation. It also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. On the driver's side, you'll see a leather-wrapped steering wheel with steering mounted controls, the engine's start/stop button, a semi-digital instrument cluster, etc.

On the safety front, you'll get a reverse parking camera with sensors, dual airbags, and ABS with EBD, to name a few.

As for the Maruti Suzuki Dzire's safety rating, it got two stars from the Global NCAP. That indicates that passive and active safety features have limited abilities to protect passengers. That further implies that the build quality plays a significant role in absorbing impacts during crashes.

Conclusion

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is undoubtedly a popular car in the country for its mileage and practicality. And it makes sense to purchase an economical vehicle. However, it would make much more sense to give equal importance to the build quality and mileage.
